The occasional hard work should not be a problem, as Mike above said, always anyway be sure to lift heavy things carefully; once your back gets damaged it will never really be reliable again.

The only thing in my observation to be careful of is combining a really heavy practice regime with a one-off very intensive activity like moving house.
If you use a gym just be careful how your hands are used in the different machines, usually they are not about the hands as such, but one can imagine gripping weights or handles too hard, which on top of heavy practice could cause issues. Similarly with using tools - I once hurt my right hand using a screwdriver on a cupboard. Awareness, thinking ahead, care at all times.

There was a recent thread about this (search for "is weight lifting a problem"). People have had different experiences but it is sometimes a problem.

I don't think you have to wrap yourself up in cotton wool though or avoid doing any lifting.

The other thing to consider is your nails, if you are a nail player. A lot of activities will ruin them.

I have not experienced any problems due to 50+ years of weight lifting. I have had problems because of martial arts. Specifically, makiwara and other hand conditioning.

it depends from age and condition of person...
it depends from what person means by playing guitar too...
very relative to all these factors.
what is good for young one maybe not good for old one...
what is good for strong one not good for weak one ...
etc.
be careful approach these things rationally and control what is going on and then you will be ok.
Do not overstretch and overdo yourself, including guitar playing itself too :)
I'd better speak by music...Please listen it on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, etc. Thanks!
