I agree with Gerard Julian Bream creates the best sound his playing is sublime.

On piano, I like Yourum Ish-Hurwitz:

and on guitar Stephan Marchionda:

Part of the appeal of each of these is the superb SACD audio, but I also like the playing!

Gunnar Spjuth has recorded some fantastic Albéniz on his album "Guitar Works By Albeniz, Granados, Rolf Matinson And Others"

It's a fantastic CD - (Granados and Albeniz) the SOUND is one of the best ever captured.

This is one of my favourite CDs ever! I listen to it often: absolutely sublime Albeniz pieces, and the most phenomenal version of Valses Poeticos (Bream's tone colours... pure genius!). Incredible stuff!

Hey there! I still love Albeniz and want to mention Trio Campanella and Brazilian guitar quartets versions of Iberia. I'm lucky to have Spotify, a online streaming music thing, that has both recordings! One of my collegues named the composer "Al Penis" which appeals to my low humour... :D
