Rolf Riehm's "Toccata Orpheus" is the piece I've been spending the most time on recently...it's a tough one!

I am learning a transcription of Debussy's Claire de Lune. The beginning is very expressive on the guitar but the arpeggiated middle section is a challenge rhythmically.

Like any Chopin or Debussy piano transcribed for classical guitar, the harmonic spacing is tough.

A lot of these pieces don't translate well but I 'm pretty excited on this transcription

Zenking

May I ask which transcription and where you got it from? This is a lovely piece of music.

I am currently learning Nocturne op 9 no.2

The first time I heard my sister played it with piano, and it is stunning piece of music, I easily attracted.

I think the most interesting part of learning this music, is we have to be very careful in every tone, but this piece is actually very rich of tone!

"Lagrima", and trying to polish up Bach's "Bourree" in Em. Also working on "Merry Go Round of Life" from "Howl's Moving Castle". It actually seems that I never stop "learning" a piece, but keep going back over it to smooth out the rough spots and improve expression, fingering, etc.

Nice! That's the song that got me into classical guitar. I learned it on a steel string.

To this day, every time the movie comes on, my wife sarcastically says, "Now, there's a song you don't hear every day."

I've heard more than a few really nice compositions coming from Anime and Video Games. It's fun to poke around on youtube and see some of the CG interpretations of these genre. Some are pretty good.

For a recital in August I´m repeating some standard stuff: Moreno-Torroba´s Castillos plus Tansman´s Suite in Modo Polonico and the Cavatina. And we´re going to record a CD in July with
two of Anton Diabelli´s songcycles for voice, flute and guitar, opp 91 and 98. The soprano is Sigrun Haaser, Esther Alt plays the Romantic Flute & I´ll play the Staufer/Legnani replica.
Last November in Frankfurt I played the Fantasia para un Gentilhombre in a version with church organ (a really beautiful organ!!). It was so succesful that we´ll repeat it several times. So I also have to keep the Fantasia warm.

I'm putting together an ATCL programme and so far have got Capricho Arabe, Hommage a Tarrega, Sakura Variations and Constellations pretty much down, need to learn a Cimarosa Sonata for a bit of periodic variation and also learning some flute and guitar music for fun.

I am pretty new to the classical guitar-coming from a fingerstyle blues style on the steel string. I have some hand problems so have started on the classical. I have been working on Manha Da Carnivale- and hope to learn some more samba/bossa nova style songs.

Thanks, Mike

No nails=unique sound and style-play a Taylor 214ce-N (and a few steel strings)
