Chopin, Frédéric; op.09/02 Nocturne - Video

Postby Denian Arcoleo » Fri Jun 01, 2012 2:37 pm

This is one of Tarrega's Chopin transcriptions. I'm on a bit of a Chopin kick at the moment and am pleased to find these transcriptions. This video differs from my last one in that I have used no digital reverb at all, the sound is the raw recorded sound available in my little studio at the top of my house.

Denian,

:bravo:

I am quite fond of Chopin, and it is always nice to hear his music played well on guitar. Yours is an excellent performance, as usual.

I must say I thought the "raw" sound was great.

:merci:

I love Chopin. Why? Benjamin Zander explains to me why. If you haven't seen this video yet, have a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9LCwI5iErE

Exceptionally nice performance! :bravo:
I enjoyed very much!
I haven’t believed this Chopin’s piano-specific piece could be played so lovely on guitar.
:merci:

Thanks for commenting, much appreciated. Chopin's music, or at any rate, some of his music transcribes to the classical guitar very nicely. The piano is still the ideal instrument on which to hear it though in my opinion.

Lovely! I like it without added reverb. It sounds very nice and rich the way it is. :D

Wonderful Denian. Excellent playing and recording. Nice delicate sound and absolutely no need for reverb. I think the character of your guitar comes thru much more without any reverb sounds very very nice which is of of course due to very fine playing.

Great seething heavens! I just followed along with my copy of the score. Your version is excellent, and I am surprised that this fine Tarrega transcription isn't part of the "core repertoire". Yet I don't think I have ever heard it before this video (Tarrega's version I mean). :bravo: :bravo: :bravo:
