May I stray for the "their guitars" topic a bit. Does any one know the estimate price of Andrea Tacchi guitar?

Guitars International has two: one is $18,500, the other is $20,000 (actually, it just sold).

Berta Rojas currently plays a guitar by the Irish luthier Michael O'Leary and she also plays a Robert Ruck.

According to a bio page, Schmidt plays:

[i]Which guitars do you regularly play:
10-string guitar: Dieter Müller (1999)

Which guitars were used for the recording of the Scarlatti Sonatas
10-string guitar: Matthias Dammann (1990)

Fugue,
Concerning the Scarlatti Sonatas:
The Matthias Dammann 10 strings guitar (1990) is not in the regularly played guitars list. :?:
Is it a mistake, and should I replace it by the Dieter Müller 10 strings guitar (1999), or do you confirm ?

I can't confirm--I'm just supplying some info that I found.

For Tedi,

If you Google for international guitars you will see a couple of Tacchi guitars for $18500 and $20000. Hope you were sitting down when you read this!! Also try looking at Aniello Desiderio videos on Youtube. He is playing a spruce Tachii that sounds delicious!!

Based on the original list, which has probably changed now, here are some interesting numbers. I will only post the multiples of three or more. There are many that are 1 or 2, and I'll never get through the whole list, as it keeps changing. I did this on last Friday, and have not gotten around to doing this. I did it by searching the whole list for each guitar builder's name, so the numbers are for the whole, original, list. Most of the ones I was getting as I continued, were in the 1 or 2 category, after going through over half the list of players.

Fleta ------------------ 34 - The winner by 10
J. Ramirez ----------- 24 - I, II, & III
Humphrey ------------ 23
Hauser ---------------- 20 - I, II, and III
Friederich ------------ 19
Smallman-------------- 19
Bouchet --------------- 13
Contreras ------------- 13
Kohno ----------------- 12
Romanillos ------------ 12
Gilbert ---------------- 10
Fischer ---------------- 8
Ruck ------------------- 8
G. Byers --------------- 7
D. Rubio ---------------- 7
Simon Marty ------------ 6
Bernabe ----------------- 5
Daumann ---------------- 5
Yamaha ----------------- 5
Abreu -------------------- 4
D. Hopf ------------------ 4
David Daily -------------- 4
Hernandez y Aguado ---- 4
Pacos Marin ------------- 4
Panhuyzen --------------- 4
Torres -------------------- 4
DeVoe -------------------- 3
Santos Hernandez ------- 3
Souithwell ---------------- 3
A. Fernandez ------------ 3
Sakurai ------------------- 3
T. Blackshear ------------ 3
Mikhail Robert ----------- 3
A. Efthimiadis ----------- 3
Rommich ----------------- 3

The rest fall into the 1 or 2 category, and there are a lot of them.

For some reason, I had skipped Torres. Fixed now.

It looks like this thread has been idle for a while, but I can add two bits of info:

Richard Patterson (a SF Bay Area favorite), plays a John Gilbert;

Scott Tennant owns a Smallman, which he lost to airline baggage handlers and then recovered when I was taking a class from him some years ago.

Thanks Fugue.
I had a complete confirmation by Schmidt himself last night.
He played The Matthias Dammann 10 strings guitar (1990) in Scarlatti, and the Dieter Müller 10 strings guitar (1999) in Bach.

The list upgrades will be posted twice a month.

Surprising to me is that while 5 artists use Yamahas, only 2 play Velasquez guitars.
2005 Bernabe Concierto, Cedar/Madagascar
1976 Manouk Papazian, Spruce/Brazilian
1958 Guillermo Del Pilar, Spruce/Brazilian
