I recently bought a Terada Tw502 hummingbird style Guitar
Could anybody help me date my guitar, there is a number printed on the wood inside the sound hole near the end of the neck as it comes through the body no is 250772 perhaps this is the date?

Apologies, Image is a bit poor - will try to post some better ones soon
I have seen others similar guitars wondering why mine doesn't have the motif on the headstock?
Any other interesting facts would be most apreciated.

Hi according to my Terada materials, your 6-digit numbering, 250772, falls in a production span from 1965 to 1972. First digit 2 means a month. Next one or two digits does a year. Others are the lot number. So yours was born in February 1965 I figured out.

Love and let live with your Terada baby

Best regards :bye:

Hi Alfiesim, if you look at my earlier posts you will see that I have a FW 502 which looks very similar to yours, would like to know if there are many differences between them

Hello everybody!

I'm new in the forum, and after my presentation in the "Introduce yourself" section, i'm writing my first post in therada forum.
Recently i bought an almost mint Terada FW619 guitar. The strings seems to be, at first view, almost older than the guitar! but it doesn´t matter: just a chord, and i knew that i was in the presence of a very special guitar...now i am neating and adjusting it, specially the fretboard needed a in-deep cleaning...

Unfortunately i can´t take some pictures of the guitar till tomorrow, then i'll post to share them with all you!

Perhaps you could help me with the date of construction...the serial number is 60305...maybe June, 1970?

In the pdf with advertising that can be seen in this forum, it's said that the guitar is built with spruce and makassar ebony...does anyone knows if it is solid or laminated?

Best regards and thank you!!

Hi everyone! A friend of mine gave me this guitar, a Terada JW-386. She is in a really bad shape. Does anyone Know this model? Are they good? Does it pay to repair?

Hello again!

finally i've finished cleaning myy terada. Just a microfiber to the body, but a indeep cleaning in the fretboard. The guitar is almost mint, as i said. I thas a wonderful sound, but i have to "awake" it again. Maybe it was 20 years ago last time it was played, judging by the strings and fretboard conditions. But the tone is just lovely and wonderful, so special. In some months of playing it will be an outstanding guitar.

It's made in makassar ebony and spruce...laminated or solid?. The serial number is 60305. I suppose it would be june 1970, or 1980...perhaps you could help me!! :-)

Best regards for all from the Pyrenees!!
Jorge

Hi Foxtein,

it was really dirty, so i was very careful. I didn´t want to damage the wood with the s..t. With Dunlop guitar fingerboard cleaning kit. First you clean, in this case very slowly, and then with lemon oil hidrate the fretboard. Finally, with steel woll 0000, polishing the metal freats!

Thank you Whooper san!

1964! it's really old. Then, it's in an incredible good condition. But sure it's this the serial code? i mean, mine is 60305, this is not between 63000 and 77000...

Anyway, it's a wonderful guitar. Such an special sound...

Regards!

Oh, one more year back in 1963. My classical Wood model was born in 1960. After a big surgery, she was reborn with a very beautiful shape and sounds marvelously.

Love and live with your Terada baby :bye:
