Here is an arrangement I have done of a melody by the 18th Century Scottish fiddle player, Niel Gow.

Very nice to play. I prefer yours to another version which was not quite so natural for the fingers (at least my fingers :? ). I guess with this type of music we usually end up with our own unique version perhaps with a few semi-improvised embellishments and fancy bits. is the fiddle version online anywhere?

Thank you, edelbitter!
:merci:
I agree with Tonyyyyy. I've seen two other arrangements of this lovely piece and yours is by far the most playable. I like your harmonic choices. Good job!

Also, this gave me the opportunity to visit your excellent website. You have many arrangements/transcriptions there, so I've bookmarked it. This should keep me busy for a long time! :D

Thanks - I've saved it. Very nice to play as written on guitar even (especially an octave higher )

Great, please enjoy!

Yes I try to always keep in mind the "choreography" of the arrangement - to avoid unnecessary left-hand shifts, for example.

Thank you, Jim.
This is doable... I love this piece and I've always had some problems making a couple of stretches in the drop D version.
Thank you very much for sharing this with us. I know that I'm going to enjoy playing this.

Thanks for this Jim.
I don't know if I should enjoy playing a lament, but this looks like a lovely arrangment.
