Greetings from Kuala Lumpur

Postby Mikelvis » Mon May 07, 2012 1:15 pm

Hello, my name is Gaurav, I have been learning the classical guitar since November 2006, and am currently a Grade 7 student in the Yamaha Classical Guitar Course. I was introduced to this forum by my teacher, who like me is very passionate of the guitar, and the fact that I can communicate with hundreds of guitar lovers out there just got me zooming straight home and registering here, haha. Sadly in our country, not many people appreciate classical music so it's really hard to find people who we can actually discuss and share our experiences about the guitar with. Okay, now although my main focus is classical, I listen to and play all sorts of genre from all around the world, cause through my "Video Hunting" adventures on YouTube I have learned that everyone plays the guitar differently everywhere! I hope this was a decent enough introduction, I sure hope it was in the very least relevant :chaud: but anyway I am looking forward to the experience of being part of a group I have dreamed of!

Hello Gaurav.

Welcome to the Delcamp classical guitar forum. Your introduction was certainly decent enough. It is good to know a little about where new members are with guitar, and a little about where they live.

If you have not already done so, please have a look at our welcome page for more information about the forum and its rules.

You already have access to all the mp3 files and videos in our recording sections, and to all members' scores. Once you have made 2 posts, you can subscribe to the 002 group which gives you access to levels 1 - 3 of the Delcamp score collection, and also enables you to post your own scores and recordings. After your 20th post you can subscribe to the 020 group for access to some higher levels of sheet music in Delcamp's library. Click here to find out how to subscribe: Acceptance of subscription could take up to 48 hours.

It is helpful if members include their location in their profile. To do this click on the User Control Panel at the upper left, then the Profile tab, and enter the information.

Enjoy yourself and see you around!

Hi Gaurav

Welcome to Delcamp. There are a couple of CG societies in Malaysia, might be worth checking them out. Simon Cheong, President of CGS (http://www.cgs.net.my) has even arranged some Malaysian tunes for CG. Simon sent me copies of these pieces a couple of weeks ago, so I'm currently learning them so that I can play them for my friends & relatives in Malaysia. My brother-in-law and his daughter in JB are just starting to learn CG - I sent them a couple of method books to get them started.

And I agree with wholeheartedly with 60moo

Looks like you've come to the right place - and that's the wonderful thing about the Internet, where you can belong to a community where you would otherwise never have had the chance.

Have fun.
