Hej from Sweden

Postby Archibal » Thu May 10, 2012 3:17 pm

I have – obviously – just sign on this site. I’ve been reading and following post’s on this terrific site, lot of interesting subjects/discussions and useful resources – lot of knowledge out there in combination with helpful souls, willingness to share there knowledge!! Respect.

I've been playing guitar on and off for a 40 years now, BUT mostly off.
I’m 54year and have hade and still have a bunch of guitars; Steel string and e-guitars + couple nylon's. Simply can’t say no to an alluring guitar.
Two years ago I decided to be more serious about my playing and began playing Classical and learning reading sheet (but still use TAB for more complicated pieces  ). I take private lessons once a week with a very good teacher and developing my technique. If possible I do play several hours a day but as an average I’m practicing 1 hour a day. I have a passion for 19th century composer’s. Fernando Sor et al and love south American latino genre.
My other passion is guitars. I would love to expand my collection with Classical guitars but as always; money!!

I look forward to take more active part in different forum’s.

Cheers,
Archibal

Hi Archibal.

Welcome to the forum.

The on/off story is pretty common amongst our members, so you will be quite at home here.

From your post you have quite a passion for guitar, and I am glad you are concentrating on classical guitar now. The forum should complement your passion well. You already have an idea of what a great resource it is. There are lots of Sor fans here, so you should try to get to know some of them.

Enjoy your visits.

Welcome Archibal, I too have been on and off guitar for very many years, and am now mostly on. IIf I can I will practice for more than 1 hour per day, but somtimes only get 1/2 hour. I have only 2 classical guitars, but I have a friend that has 2 acoustic and 4 electric guitars, and he will be purchacing more. This is a great site with many resources, and sheet music. You get access to more sheet music by the amount of posts you do. Remember to post at least once per month to keep up your membership,

Leo.
