Simplicio, Vito - Buona Notte Il Mio Figlio - Video

Postby Vito Simplicio » Mon Sep 17, 2007 2:09 am

Buona Notte Il Mio Figlio, Goodnight My Son.

Hello Everyone,

Here's to all of the "not so good guitar players" (like me  ) who would not dare post a piece on the video section. :) This is further dedicated to all of the parents who enjoy putting their children to bed at night. For some of us, this is only a memory.

Non che mal!

I like it, it's very soft and well played. You need a jazz band behind

:bravo:

That is the kind of playing I enjoy listening to. Is that you playing Simplicio? Thanks,

Thanks wchymeUS, a jazz band behind me would be good but there's not enough room. :)

Wow! Very nice, Vito! Wonderful playing, composition and video quality! And the picture of your son at the end is ADORABLE! (I kinda missed seeing your wife making fart sounds at the end, though  . Was she running the camera?)

I could play with brushes behind you if you could find a bass player :) .....

Is this a new feature, being able to embed Youtube videos? Very clever! What hath God wrought?

Alan

ps. Did the hat come with the Estaban guitar? :grire:

Hello Alan,

I just spotted a link at the top of the thread that tells you how to do it.

Oh wow! I just clicked submit and this appeared:

Isn't that useful! It also showed me the content of Amadan's post.

Vito, I just used TubeSock to grab your video to my hard drive—the quality is fantastic.

Best wishes, V :)

What a treat to wake up and find all of your kind words.

Luthval wrote::bravo:(reminds me Baden Powell playing softly his guitar while whispering sweet words in our ears during a concert...)

Thanks Luthval. I took a few moments to see Powell's videos on YouTube. Enjoyed it.

Thanks Vesuvio, I feel so grateful to have a wonderful place to share my music. Thanks again for your always continued support.

Hi JoeO, it's a humbling experience to post a video next to other exceptional members like prometheus36, jounis and fEZ. I remember Hav complimenting someone for having the courage to post a video. I responded back that I didn't think it took that much courage when they can play so exceptionally well.

Thanks Alan, it's always nice to hear from you. No my wife was not running the camera. She doesn't have the patience for me since she considers me to be OCD. Just so there's no confusion about the "fart sounds", Alan is referring to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LudQqmA8IIc.

Tarbaby wrote:I could play with brushes behind you if you could find a bass player :) .....

You on brushes and a bass would complete the sound for sure but I'd have to keep a consistent beat. :)

Tarbaby wrote:Is this a new feature, being able to embed Youtube videos? Very clever! What hath God wrought?

I tried to upload it the normal way but it would not work for some reason so I brought in my son (the one at the end of the video but 13 years later) and he encouraged me to do the YouTube thing. I was concerned that I was breaking some kind of rule but then I noticed that Luthval did it this way and he's a moderator, right? So there you go.

Beautiful feel to your playing, you've really got the jazz ballad style down there - reminds me of the late great Joe Pass.
You play down your own skills as a guitar player, but I enjoyed it very much and thanks for posting this.

All the best
