Thanks for posting this, it's always interesting to hear some of Pujol's less touted pieces played - which you did commendably.
In practice no-one can hear you scream.

Hello Aryeh, this is just so beautiful! You play very good and have a nice feeling.
I didn´t know, Pujol wrote such nice music, now I want to know more about it.
I also wonder, what guitar you are playing - it seems to be a very good one!

Aryeh wrote:Hello Delcampers,

I was looking through the list of contemporary composers that have given their permission to publish recordings of their pieces on the forum and I was very happy to see the wonderful Argentinian composer Maximo Diego Pujol on the list since I really love his music.

viewtopic.php?f=30&t=49798#p537327

I thought I would share this lovely piece by MD Pujol called Verde alma which means literally "Green Soul" though I think the word green here is used in the way of being naive, pure, or innocent. This is from a set called "4 piezas cristalinas" published by Henry Lemoine. The dedication on the piece in Spanish reads "para Cecilia, la compañera de mi vida" (for Cecilia my life companion)

The melody & chord progression of the main theme of this piece reminds me very much of a pop ballad/love song or movie soundtrack, I've definitely heard something(s) similar though I can't place it exactly. At any rate it's a very pretty piece and I hope you enjoy it. It looks much easier on the page than it is to play so there's a couple of minor annoying clammy mistakes here and there but I'll keep practicing it and maybe update my recording at a later date. Meanwhile here's what I've got, comments are welcome and thanks for listening. :D

Note: You may find the recording a bit distant and soft sounding on your computer speakers, don't be afraid to turn up the volume :D

Kind regards,

Aryeh

Loved the playing and the piece so much, I immediately bought the music. Lovely, in every sense. I think when a composer finds an emotional truth which he expresses sincerely and clearly, like this, it becomes something special.
Your playing was totally true to it. loved it.
