Savarez strings

Postby nylonshred » Sun Feb 13, 2011 8:03 pm

Ok so question. I'm looking into getting the savarez cantiga strings and was thinking of pairing them with alliance trebles. I've heard the alliance trebles are carbon strings and have heard that only some guitars can use them due to the amount of tension they give. I use corum new cristal for the most part but I am wanting a brighter sound. So would the alliance trebles be ok to use?

If it helps my guitar is a Cordoba 50r

Thanks!

They should be fine on your 50R. I prefer a mixed set of hard-tension Cantigas with normal-tension Alliance on almost all of my guitars. That would be Cantiga 540ARJ.

You might want to start with 510AR (normal tension for all strings) first to see how your Cordoba responds and if you like the feel. If you want a little more power to the basses, then go for the 540ARJ.
