Anyone knows about these new D´Addario strings ?

If you tried them your opinion will be much appreciated.

Only the basses are new and they are paired with the Titanium trebles.

Best wishes.

Are they on the market? I wasn't able to find them on any online store.

Yeah, I checked out the D'Addario site. What a deal. When I clicked on add to cart (to see the price)
they came up $0.00. At that price I think I'll buy a dozen sets!

StringsByMail now has them listed on their site and states that they will be available soon. They are the T2 titanium trebles paired with what appears to be their composite basses. Some forum members report to pairing these already and wondered why they aren't marketed as sets. It seems D`Addario was listening.

From D'Addario's site:"D'Addario Pro-Arté DynaCore sets are constructed using our exclusive multifilament stranded core material with a revolutionary winding technique."

So they are not actually described as the composites but it sure seems like it because the diameters and tensions are exactly the same as the basses from their composite sets. Assuming this to be the case, I'm a bit confused as to their price point. It will be $1.89 cheaper to purchase a composite bass set and a T2 treble set individually than go for a Dynacore set. In fact I have a set of T2's and composite basses in my string testing collection now and may have to try a "dynacore" set...

Happy Holidays!

Weird how with the high tension sets the A & D strings seem to go up in tension a lot more than the other strings.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been receiving more posts. I just recently put on a set of J45's and while they don't have the tension I need to really dig in, they do have a sweet sound when played softly and the intonation is spot-on. Next I'm going to try a set of J46's and I also ordered an set of J45 basses to go with HT T2's. After I go through those sets I'll try the Dynacore set. I also have a set of Savarez Crystal/Cantiga NT & Cantiga/Alliance NT. Previously I had on Aquilla Alabastro's. I think D'Addario should also offer a sent of NT Dynacore basses with HT T2 trebles.

Hello, I am new to this board. I have been supplying the Titanium trebles combined with various bass strings to clients for a while. This new set does indeed have new basses. The dynacore base is a microfilament core then wrapped with silver wrap which is the same as the Pro-Arte basses. My D'Addario sells rep tells me these were in response to a Savarez style string. I have only heard them on one guitar so far, and that is a new Ruck ("double top") instrument I put them on. They are described by D'Addario as a "brighter" string. My personal subjective account would say these basses lie somewhere in between the Pro-Art basses and the tone of the Composite basses. So to my ear, these have a similar punch to them as the Pro-Arte but actually a bit warmer. They do not have the initial dark or as some feel dead tone of the composites. I believe string preferences are very subjective and I don't choose the same strings for all guitars nor players. I will be trying these on more guitars this coming week. D'Addario also claims these strings will have longer wear than the Pro-artes due to the new core. I hope this is helpful.

Hi Keith,

I appreciate the information and I hope my earlier post wasn't irritating, I guess I may just be suspicious by nature!

I look forward to hearing your impressions of these new strings on different guitars. Also, do you know if D'Addario plans on offering Dynacore bass sets without T2's?

Thanks,
Kevin

Don Dawson from D'Addario wrote that "trebles are the same as the T2 strings, but we now laser sort them in the Dynacore sets, ensuring 100% precise intonation, much the way we do in for our Pro-Arte sets. We will also be sorting the singles, as well, but currently they are not sorted. We'll be starting this hopefully in the very near future"

Gents - don from D'Addario here. The strings were released at the recent 2012 NAMM show in California. Many dealers would have either placed orders at the show or just after the show. You should see the strings in stores by now.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

At that price D'Addario takes a loss on each set, but they make it up in volume! :D

I'm wondering how this new string set would sound on my cedar top guitar. Would they improve projection and slightly increase brightness without sacrificing the warm, darker tone? Any thougts/answers?
