Kertsopoulos,

What do you mean by 'newly developed strings'?

Peter

Strings that give the possibility to the guitar to be tuned: Open Strings=3d, 5th, 7th, 9th or 12th fret.
The video below where I perform the Logy suite in A minor in 6 different tunings will inform you on the
overall result achieved. Thanks, all best, Yorgos

Thanks for that explanation and video, Yorgos.

In the higher pitch tunings would not the strings have very high tension? How does this affect total stress on the guitar and the 'feel' under the left hand?

Regards
Peter

My strings have smaller mass and that is the reason they can be tuned higher. The overall tension on the
guitar on all different tunings does not overpass the overall HARD tension provided by the normal tuning strings.
Please do not attempt to tune normal guitar strings above the normal specified tension. In order to
get higher tunings specially designed strings of smaller mass are required. The "feel" on the
left hand in my strings is very convenient and much more comfortable than the normal tuning
because the mass of the strings is smaller.Regards, Yorgos

Interesting guitar support/amplifier combo . . . :casque:
Whenever I am not ready for my music lesson, I call it 'facing the music'.

Mark Abel Reports On Smaro Gregoriadou Live Concert and at one point he writes:...But she appeared onstage with just a single instrument, a six-string in conventional tuning (which she adjusted for certain pieces) that bore Kertsopoulos’ stamp with an unusual block added to the guitar’s standard construction...Of course, in the comments section of the review I thanked Smaro for using my guitars and strings all these years and also thanked Mr.Abel for his kind reference to my work and explained that the "unusual block" he is refering to is the "Kertsopoulos guitar support-amplifier version: Superior" giving also the link to this topic. Many thanks to all of you friends of Delcamp, for your continuing support in my work. For the very interesting review of Mr.Abel on Smaro please view:https://delosmusic.com/mark-abel-smaro- ... -san-jose/

The "Kertsopoulos guitar support-amplifier" is used by Smaro for recording the beautiful and demanding "Thème varié et finale" by Manuel Ponce.
Smaro Gregoriadou interprets the 1928 SCHOTT/Segovia version of Thème varié et finale by Manuel Ponce (1882-1948). A genuine masterpiece in classical guitar's philology, this highly virtuosic work was composed in 1926 and intermingles impressionistic and neo-romantic techniques, while being strongly evocative of Hispanic folklore.

Smaro is a recording artist of DELOS http://www.delosmus.com and this composition is included in her cd "El Aleph" (DE 3490).

Smaro interpreting the beautiful 4 Préludes for guitar by Fernande Peyrot using the "Kertsopoulos guitar support-amplifier".
Smaro Gregoriadou interprets Préludes pour guitare by Fernande Peyrot (1888-1978).
(00:00) Prélude I – Larghetto
(01:18) Prélude II – Moderato / Poco più lento (tempo rubato)
(03:25) Prélude III – Scherzando vivace
(04:47) Prélude IV – Vivo con fuoco - Più lento cantando - Tempo Io
During her lifetime, French-Swiss Fernande Peyrot (1888-1978) was considered one of the most important female composers of the 20th century. She belonged to the composers of Frank Martin's generation. Peyrot’s skills and unique music personality brought her to the attention of legendary musicians of her time, including guitarist Andrés Segovia and conductor Ernest Ansermet. Her well-crafted compositional output is quite extensive, including orchestral works, chamber music, choral works and songs. Until fairly recently she belonged to the mostly forgotten composers of her generation. Her four Préludes pour guitare, most probably composed in the early 1930s, show her at her very best. These are four delicate miniatures, contrasted in mood and harmonic and rhythmic development.
