We've been experimenting with this new fingernail protector for about the last 6 months or so. Best we ever found.
Here's the info on it:
Our GuitarPlayerNails Brush-on Fingernail Protector is the strongest and most durable nail strengthener and protector available. It will give you incredibly strong nails that sound great. Unlike ordinary cyanoacrylate fingernail glues (super glues), this product adds very little brittleness to your natural nail, and has no irritating odors. Although our fingernail protector is a cyanoacrylate based product, it has a different chemical formula then all other cyanoacrylate fingernail glues. It's much less brittle and does not add brittleness to the substrate. So if you accidentally run your fingernail into a wall, and do crack the nail protector, (which is really hard to do) it will be minimal and it won't effect the underlying nail. This is a really good thing, as the main problem with using ordinary nail glues, or nail glues with wrap, is that if you do crack it, it also will crack and weaken the underlying natural nail. Because of this difference, our Fingernail Protector will give you incredibly strong natural nails that will last and won't get brittle or weak. GuitarPlayerNails Fingernail Protector dries a bit slower than ordinary nail glues, so we recommend applying thin layers at a time. We highly recommend using silk wrap with our Fingernail Protector for added strength and durability. We include it with each order. (See step 23 on our instructions page). Please clean your fingernails well with alcohol before applying, then let dry. Brush on a thin layer, wait 5 or 10 minutes for it to dry, then add another layer if you wish. Add wrap with each layer. When using wrap, spend a little time brushing and saturating the wrap with the brush, and then smooth it out.(Shine goes away as it dries). Add as many layers as you wish; 2 layers is pretty strong, but different conditions exist for different nails so you can customize it to your own taste. Because our fingernail protector is cyanoacrylate based, you still can use a commercial nail glue dryer with it, and it will dry and set in just a few seconds, but if you do, it will add brittleness. But even when using nail glue dryer, it still won't effect (crack) the underlying natural nail. We do however, highly recommend that you let our fingernail protector air dry on its own. If you do manage to get a crack in it, simply brush a thin layer of fingernail protector right over the crack and let dry. You can also, if needed, file off the old layer of fingernail protector and then add more. This will not effect the natural nail adversely, and will give the nail uninterrupted strength.
We have it available right now in our store. Really is great stuff:
