Julio S. Sagreras "Bebita"

Post by Humberto » Wed Aug 09, 2017 9:56 pm

I was listening Sagreras's pieces on Spotify and mostly there are different versions of "El Colibri" of course but then came across this "Bebita" performed by Lars Melander. I started to look for the sheet music but seems like it's really hard to find. Does anyone have any tips where I could find this? Is it with a different name in some of his books? I own Melbay's Sagreras book where is 48 Early works & Transcriptions printed, but I could not find this one from there.

In IMSLP's list of works by Sagreras this piece is mentioned under Works without Opus number but there is a "Plate No" BA 9559.
Best version I could find on Youtube:
James Manuele performing BABITA by Julio Sagreras
(uploader has misspelled the name to Babita though)

Seems like someone in the French Delcamp forum has posted this http://www.guitareclassiquedelcamp.com/ ... hp?t=33673

Is there a way to interact with the French forum? Seems like the same username and password don't work there.

I really love Sagreras' music, but I've never heard this one...thanks for the introduction :) Are you looking for a free version? Because if you do a Google search for "staffers bebita" the third result is a link to buy the sheet for 2 pounds.

Thanks for the tip! I think I saw a link like that at first but I kinda overlooked that option because I was hoping to find it for free as Sagreras's works are already in the public domain. Anyway ended up ordering it from Boosey.com - they wanted £4 postage for the £2 sheet but what you gonna do. :)

Aww man that drives me crazy (when postage is more than the price of the item)! But at least you will get the lovely music now :) I remember going to a Carlos Perez recital a number of years back and he played quite a few Sagreras works that I had never heard of. This composer was quite a busy guy!
