Malats died in 1912, and his music is in public domain, right?
Tarrega transcription of Serenata Española is also in public domain.
Serenata Española can be easily found online for free, for example at Thorlaksson's classicalguitarschool.net, or at *** Site blocked for copyright reasons ***. It is also offered here by Msr. Delcamp in D09 or here: http://www.delcamp.net/pdf/joaquin_malats_serenata_espanola.pdf

Serenata Andaluza can be found at *** Site blocked for copyright reasons ***

thanks alot. but im looking for a better published version of serenata andaluza.
that one at *** Site blocked for copyright reasons *** seems fishy.

i wonder where manuel barrueco got the version he played on his tarrega record.

Barrueco is most likely playing Tarrega transcription of both serenatas which was published by Berben (4th volume of Tarrega works for guitar). But he could make his own adjustments to the score.

If you want an authentic version of 'Serenata Espanol', you can now hear Malats himself playing his own composition! (on his honky-tonk piano :P )

Search YouTube for Joachin Malats plays Joachin Malats: Serenata Espanol (Recorded ca. 1903)

This is noticably different from what we normally hear, in that some phrases appear to be played in the minor key.

There is also transcription of Serenata Espanola by Angelo Gilardino which he made for Martha Masters in 2005.
