Autumn Leaves

Could anyone suggest a good arrangement (for classical guitar) of the jazz standard "Autumn Leaves"?

Thanks for your help.

It is actually Joseph Kosma (with a 'K').

There are countless arrangements and interpretations of this song but I'm having a hard time locating an appropriate transcription for solo guitar that combines the melody and accompaniment. Most scores that I find are basically chord sheets with a few melody notes.

Maybe try this:

I found it in about 10 seconds of searching. ;)

Better still, for a more sophisticated arrangement, try the one by Jorge Nolla here: http://www.profdeguitare.com/list.htm
I find his arrangements of jazz and bossa nova "standards" very good.

Hi jfcx,
Check out Alex Chudnovsky on you tube playing his arrangement. Not sure if the sheet music is available yet...Stephen
Doesn't everybody want to play guitar?

Thank you for all these suggestions.

The arrangement available on the nylonguitarist website sounds quite good. This arrangement was actually written by Australian guitarist David Boddington.

You might google Chet Atkins Autumn Leaves if you care for his style.

Steve dell's website also has a version (http://www.stevedell.co.uk)

From memory it is linked to a Youtube of him playing it which you can access via his site.

I play my own arrangement of this piece on a flamenco guitar. I was inspired by the late Barney Kessel, whom I was lucky enough to sit just 3 feet away from at a small gig in 1990. My arrangement is very different to Barney's, as one should expect for jazz music.

I just looked at the chord progression that I picked up at a jazz meet in Mudchute, London and explored a bit. As it is jazz, that is my advice...create!

Really cannot stand the lyrical version though.

I love Barney Kessel, you were lucky! I missed out on seeing him live, at least there are videos...
