German Vasquez Rubio 1998 Hauser model - SOLD

German Vasquez Rubio 1998 Hauser model - SOLD

Postby Robert England » Sun Dec 14, 2008 12:10 am

This is a classical guitar made by GV Rubio in 1998, in his Hauser style.
Scale length is 650 mm; nut width 52 mm.
Top is highly figured spruce. Rubio usually builds with European Spruce, but I can't say for sure the species. I like the figure in the top, but its not traditional. See pictures.
Back and sides are East Indian Rosewood
Fingerboard is ebony; rosewood bridge; bone nut and compensated saddle
Sound: experts say that this guitar is very true to the GV Rubio sound, with sweet trebles and a full bass, nice separation, etc.
Condition: very good. Frets, back and sides are like new. There are a lot of superficial nail marks and a few string marks on the top. The guitar has been played!
Price: $3600 Canadian (approx. $2900 US depending on exchange rate)
Viewing/Trial: to be arranged. Contact me by PM.

I have a 2001 GVR Spruce, also 650-mm.
But it is a Solista model (GVR's own design, not a Hauser copy).

As you mentioned, my Solista model has beautiful sound and good separation of trebel and bass.
I do not need a new guitar but I highly recommend this guitar to whoever wants a Spruce.

I know and admire German's work. The best guitar I have ever played is one of his Hauser models. Great sounding guitar. I wish I could expand my collection, but I have no money available, otherwise, I would buy it.
