Wow!!! Bravo, Maestro! What a performance!

From the cheap seats, I wonder how in the world you or anyone memorizes this.

Bravo, indeed! A virtuosic rendition of a great masterpiece. I enjoyed every note (which i know like the back of my hand). :bravo:

Magnificent ... masterful ... and nice video - now I can check my fingering against yours :D

(And I'm going to watch the rest of your videos)

On another note, so to speak, while working on this I came across a score in which the arrangement is written out with the 3rd tuned down to F#. At first run through it seems to facilitate certain passages.

Anyone else tried this? Any comments?

Again, nice one Gary!

Thanks, I memorise 2-4 bars at a time, I find it much easier to look at the fretboard rather than read and play at the same time.

Thanks Simon, yes I've heard other people talk about the arrangement with the f sharp tuning but it just confuses me.

Awesome! - that's a piece I've always been terrified of...
Funny how your wrist watch puts in a brief appearance

I have been listening to this (and 'playing' it in my head), and noodling with parts of it, for 55 years.
Now I'm settling in to finish it while I still can.

Ha yes you're right, a bit of Benny Hill style editing. Anyway I had another listen and decided to record another one this morning , a better version hopefully.

I found watching the John Williams video on YouTube very helpful. I've also just redone it, a bit better I hope.

Hi Gary,
Looking good and sounding great!
I really enjoyed this performance and you look so at ease playing this Prelude, it's a pleasure to watch. Great camera work too.
What guitar are you playing on this video?

Thanks, it's the Adalid Hopf lattice spruce that I've got in the for sale section.
