MUSIC Notation Software & - BACH Scores

Post by tcampinari » Thu May 25, 2006 3:43 pm

Dear Friends,

I would like to have the A minor transcription of BACH-BWV 1001 Sonata for Solo violin which the original is in G Minor.

I have some scores written by free softwares like "MusicTex" and "LilyPond". Do you know how to transpose a .ly or .tex file?

Or, what do you recommend for this solution?

Does anyone have .mus file of sonatas & partitas and Lute Suites of BACH?

Thank you very much...

Tevfik

For many years I have used the shareware music notation program http://www.myriad-online.com/en/index.h ... Assistant. While I am sure it is not as powerful as professional music notation programs it is only $20. It will open a variety of formats in notation and can easily tranpose by simple commands.

BTW, its native format carries a .mus extension, but I am not sure that this is the same format as you are asking about. A free demos in available, which has some limitations, but should allow you to see if it will open the files you want to work with.

If your music is in lilypond, and you have the source file, it can be transposed using the transpose command:

Million thanks Wschart. I just got the Melody Assistant demo. Very very useful. The notation menus are very slow to pop out and choose on the demo though. Are they faster on the paid up version? Franki 8)

What do I need?

Post by tcampinari » Sat May 27, 2006 5:54 pm

Dear Friends,

Actually, I need the following scores:

BWV 1001 A Minor Transcription (The Original is G Minor)

BWV 996 Lute Suite I (Unfingered version)

BWV 997 Lute Suite II (Unfingered version)

I need these scores in GIF, PDF or another format.

Does anyone have an idea about how I can obtain these scores? Or do you have these scores?

Not noted that problem. It's been so long since I ran just the demo I can't comment if that is the case.
