Smetana, Bedrich - Moldau (Vltava) for guitar solo - Video

Post by josefmazan » Fri Jun 08, 2018 8:04 pm

Hello,
I made this arrangement for Japanese audiences, as they love Czech romantic music. But of course, the symphonic orchestra version sounds somehow better and fuller.
I enjoy the harmonics in the end, octave and quint.
Please enjoy

Ahoi Josef,
very nice arrangement. Did you also think about a transcription of the part Vysehrad? I love the whole symphonic tale ... I would also love to get the scores...
Regards from the Elbe - river (which get feeded by the Vltava)

Whew! Smetana on the guitar! Pretty bold move, but you pull it off very nicely here. Very nice arrangement.

Great performance and arrangement, Josef!
What gorgeous guitar are you playing there, it's not the same as in your Carcassi videos, isn't it?

Hi musikai,
Sorry for the late reply. But yes, I play the same guitar. The difference is the Smetana recording is from acustically perfect Munetsugu Hall in Nagoya. The Japanese architects know how to do their stuff, these halls are projected on computer with acustic analysis. And the Carcassi videos, recorded in my living room with no effect at all, just a dry sound:)
