Some years ago, I went to a concert of a exquisite Croatian guitarist who lives in Portugal, Dejan Ivanovich, and the last piece was a sentimental, piercing, small work - Nocturno by Slavko Fumić. Later I managed to contact Darko Petrinjak, who published the collected works by the Fumić brothers (Slavko and Rudolph).
The Fumić brothers were amateur - yet very inspired - musicians. Slavko, born in 1912 worked in the Zagreb Tramway Company, and his brother Rudolf(b. 1915) as a bank clerk. Both had a intense musical life, giving concerts, composing and publishing their arrangements. Slavko directed as well the Tramway company Mandolin and Guitar orchestra.
They both died in political prisons, Slavko in 1944 and Rudolf in 1951.
I decided to make a video of this piece, as a farewell to a Ramirez guitar I let go to another owner ;(
