Laranjeiras, Quincas - Valsa - Video

Post by Pajarillo » Mon Mar 11, 2019 10:05 am

This is the 4-th piece for my playlist of Quincas Laranjeiras "VALSA". An important figure of the second generation of Brazilians who took the guitar as a solo instrument, Joaquim Francisco dos Santos, known under the name Quincas Laranjeiras was the professor of eminent musicians who would carry the torch even further: the blind Levino da Conceiçao, Jose Rabelo, and Joao Pernambuco. A eulogy published in "O Violao" magazine (1929) referred to him as the "grandfather of the modern guitar."
