Thank you, Steve, for your kind words ! Music by Maestro Eliseo certainly is most beautiful, and my story shows how the chain of people of a good will may bring beautiful results.

Wonderful story thank you. Have you had any experience with Amalio Burguet 1A?

What is the price difference for you, seeing that you live in the US?

Dear PuraVida,

I think that I really understand your dilemma; if possible - try to test play both guitars/models, possibly in a company of musician friend, maybe a teacher, who would play the instruments for you and who would serve as advisor.

If this is not possible then I would try to find a friendly person who has an access to both guitars and ask this person not only for his/her opinion but also for test playing it for me via Skype or similar remote service. This was the case with me and my Antonio Picado model 60 - I am eternally grateful to my dear Friend - Maestro Eliseo Fresquet Serret who has played his Picado guitars for me and has been answering my numerous questions via Skype. I have proceed in similar way with my other guitar - the son of a seller - a student in music school played the guitar for me via Skype and then I decided to but this instrument.

Finally manage to record her voice. I've put the link in my AP60 thread here. Please get the link here.

I've almost sold her away, but unbearable and confirmed my feeling to keep her forever. After all, this spanish girl friend is my first Luthier made.

Cheers!

Good Morning Jon, the price difference is including shipping from Miami to SF about 150 Euros or $175; Amalio B1a the more expensive.

Dear Jacek,
It is a beautiful, fascinating and true story. I´m happy to help you taking this decision about to get a guitar Antonio Picado Mod. 60
I wish you a lot of happiness and health with your new guitar.
With my best thoughts and wishes

Eliseo Fresquet-Serret

P.S. For those people who do not know Antonio Picado Guitar Mod. 60, modestly I interpret them “Cala Trons”
one of my humble compositions.

I have been researching Picado Model 60's for a possible purchase next year and found this thread, old though it is. I LOVE the sound of this guitar and your composition was very very pleasing.

- the thread is "old" but very actual as Picado model 60 guitars enjoy well deserved reputation, and both head luthiers at the small Picado workshop: Angel Genis and Carlos Prat are working hard on improvements. For example - there is an option to order your guitar with so called Doble Tapa (not double top plate but double bottom, what influences the sound in very interesting way).

My own Picado model 60 that is described in this thread has recently got a very beautiful sister - Picado model 62 with doble tapa. Soon I will describe the story about my Picado model 62 in another thread.

And my Dear Friend Maestro Eliseo Fresquet Serret will be surely happy to read that his "introduction" to Picado model 60 is of good use and helps.

With my best

Jacek

- double back is an old Spanish construction, Manuel Contreras made it known or famous again. It does not make the guitar louder, it gives specific, "noble' or "mysterious" tone/sound. There are different ways of construction classical guitar with traditional "extras" - one of them is so called Tornavoz, some Torres guitars are if I remember well fitted with Tornavoz.

It sounds like the Tornavoz may be similar in conception to the "virzi," a second interior resonating surface that instrument builder Lloyd Loar designed for use in mandolins. They didn't really catch on. More info here: https://www.mandolincafe.com/glossary/glossary_14.shtml

- so sorry, the Tornavoz is a metal or (nowadays) plastic sort of short tube. Here we have a thread on Tornavoz

PuraVida, I can give a solid 2 thumbs up for the Burguet 1A if you're still looking.
