I have only ever known playing 650mm scale length guitar...
but after casually having played on a Yamaha CS40 3/4 size I recently discovered that a 580mm scale length is much more comfortable for my hands (I am 5'7" or 170cm to put things in perspective).
However I found the string spacing to be too narrow for my liking and I really would like to acquire a guitar with the wider 52mm neck I am accustomed to.
I find this bittersweet because I suddenly have discovered that I can enjoy playing guitar without the usual discomfort in my fretting hand and awkward posture, however I will soon have to say farewell to my beloved Alhambra 11p (becaust it is too big)
Now, I appreciate that there are many talented and skilled lutheirs who would build guitar with custom dimensions and in fact I will be buying a luthier guitar for playing at home
However, I will also find myself in the need for a cheaper, more disposable guitar hopefully under $1000 that I can use with less care regarding the finish, humidity, etc.
I read about the Esteve 3STE 580mm guitar which supposedly comes in a 52mm neck but I can't find any for purchase at the moment...
I also located the Raimundo 1495 Requinto guitar that has a neck width which is 51.5 which is probably close enough but unfortunately the scale length is 560mm and I fear it will be too small for playing in higher positions.
I appreciate your help
