Worth mentioning where you are located or the currency you are talking about. 1000 Yen, Rupies, Egyptian pounds, Euro or any one of a load of different dollars are quite different.

I'd suggest checking out the 'Gtrs fo Sale' section here and scrolling down to mine... except that it's your first gtr and buying online may not be a good idea.

Are you a steel-string player coming afresh to the CG or new to the guitar? If the latter I'd suggest finding a local teacher for advice.

As introduced in your first post that you are from Canada, buying used from your very own city via Kijiji can be a good start. Depending on where you are, there are dozen of good Japan-made used guitars in Kijiji Toronto. If you are really new to classical guitar, meaning you don't know if this passion lasts, an investment on $1000 CAD can be excessive. E.g. one owner from Toronto wants to sell a Japanese ARIA model A573 for $300 (in good condition, no cracks), it could be all you need.

Are you in the Ontario, GTA area? If so let me know I may be able to help you out.

Buy an Aria guitar :) They made great classical guitars and in that budget there is something nice waiting for you on e - b a y or reverb...Great guitars in your price range, so much better than the Cordoba garbage.

You may want to check out this instrument posted in the "Classical Guitars for Sale" section:

To me it seems to be a good deal.

Try a Cordoba C9 or C10 - great value for the money, used or new. Many owners here.

Aria was mentioned. The all solid Arias or Jose Antonio range seem interesting - latter made by Esteve I think.
