Advice on buying Yamaha C40IIM or C40II

Post by mglam » Thu Jan 31, 2019 6:01 am

Hi everyone,
I would like to buy a guitar which in a range of 100-200. I have found YAMAHA is one of the best in this range. I am confused between matte or polish.
Please give me some advises or maybe recommend me other choices. Thank you.

Yamaha C40 ii M is matte finish, you cannnot put polish on it,just wipe with slightly damp cloth when it gets dirty.
C 40 ii is the orangy glossy finish. Both are same specs, but matte one sounds better IMO.

The top, back and sides are very thin so you have to be extremely careful handling it. It tends to crack on the bottom easilly with just a slight knock if you drop it accidentally.

If you have extra bucks, get the C70 or C80.The machine heads on these two models are more reliable.

All the Yamaha C series are laminated guitars, the neck profile is comfortable, good intonation and easy to play.

Just a point of interest, Yamaha has a few 4/4 student guitars of all laminate construction available at the moment, some gloss some matt. Most other manufacturers have one :)

The pricing does not correlate with the model number either - probably from a different series - but it gets confusing...
