Any recommendations on a decent carbon fiber case? Thanks in advance!

I've been a fan of the Crossrock cases. I've owned 2 of their fiberglass models for years. The cases have gone almost everywhere with me except for air travel. Still work great!

They just came out with some Carbon Fiber cases that I'd jump on if I did any air travel

I've had an Accord for 13 years that's traveled with me on dozens of flights and trains. It's in constant daily use and is still going strong. Although scuffed and scratched, the hardware has held up. The case has been dropped, toppled over several times, caught in a tropical downpour and tumbled down a flight of stairs, but the guitar has never been damaged. I have only had to put it through as checked baggage a few times, but it's been gate checked frequently. Nothing will protect a guitar from all possible disasters, so I carry insurance and reduce my angst.

Jeff Hoffee Air Case. It is a $800 carbon fibre with a matte gel coat. It costs a lot more to get a glossy gel coat finish. The Air Case has an integral air pump that pumps up an air sac to conform snugly to the guitar. The air sac once pumped remains pumped up. You could recharge it when you put the guitar back in the case. It is presumed that the owner of such a case plays his or her guitar often and not leave it in the case stored longterm untouched. The Hoffee Air Case fits a range of classical guitar sizes.

I have two glossy gel coat regular Hoffee carbon fibre cases with padding. The Air Case was not available when I bought mine. Light, tough and very strong. The glossy gel coat scuffs up in use. Dream Guitars in North Carolina is a dealer.

Depending on your price point: BAM, Hoffee and Calton. I've owned all of them and was impressed with the quality. If price is no object, take the Hoffee. I like their seal and clasps the best.

Hoffee's site state they are $1275, and Dream Guitars sells them for $1305--a far cry form $800!

It is sturdy as carbon fiber, and light: visesnut. Best case I’ve ever had and had plenty of them.

My karura case is still going strong after 10 years. Been on many flights and banged around.

Although not carbon fiber, I have a Visesnut case (with padded travel cover) which has recently completed 40,000 km on 8 international flights as checked-in luggage. No problems whatsoever. If not done so already, I believe Visesnut may be bringing out a carbon fiber version of their case.

As I stated in my first response, the Hoffee Air Case has a matte gel coat, not a glossy gel coat. The Air case has a plush covered inflatable air bladder or sac that that the user pumps up with an integral air pump. This allows one Air to custom fit a range of classical guitar sizes. The matte gel coat is not as expensive to make as a glossy gel coat. That plus the air bladder helps to lower the cost to $800.

Jeff Hoffee announces the AIR Case here : https://m.facebook.com/276060422423476/ ... _tn__=EH-R .

I bought a copper colored Visesnut case (got a deal--$795), and it arrived today. Fits my de Jonge like a glove!

It came with a cover, but I plan to use it only when I fly.
