Cordoba CP110

Post by Christopher Langley » Thu Jul 12, 2018 2:03 am

I found a like new Cordoba CP110 posted on my local craigslist for 50 bucks... And the guy even says possibly willing to negotiate on the price.. So I guess I can probably get it for 40?

Looking around it seems these were definitely cheaper cordobas.. but, it is a solid top.

Currently everything I have is laminate.. Is it worth going and checking it out? Or is it too cheap to possibly be worthwhile?

My guitar tech told me to watch out for Cordobas.. that they sometimes have neck issues.. IDK

I really want to save up and try to find a vintage japanese made solid top.. but, if this might be worth looking at in the meantime, I might go check it out.

Price is down to 30... Thinking I would be stupid not to look at it for that price.

Also, I think I posted in the wrong area. Feel free to move mods.

Go for it. At that price there is very little risk. If you find it unusable, sell it for around the same price or less and move on.

I've got it! And it's pretty sweet, comparable worksmanship to my other cheap laminates (shockingly good, that is), but, WITH A SOLID TOP! (and a natural type finish which I prefer)

I'm beyond thrilled. It might not stack up to nicer solid tops.. but it definitely has an edge on my laminates even with these old strings.

I feel like a real guitar player now... Getting ready to clean it up and restring :)) I will post pictures shortly.

That's great I'm glad it turned out well... and you really can't beat $30. I'd expect it to be a solid student guitar.

It's pretty well put together, lightweight.. I like the finish and the sound just keeps getting better as the strings break in.

naaaaah. 8)

My father plays and collects guitars too, so what you see is a combined collection.

Everything was bought second-hand over the course of many years.

Sometimes it's hard to pass up a good deal (Like this solid top for 30 bucks).

I have decided to pretty much take a break from looking at gear though. I've got more than enough crap. The only thing I want now is a proper luthier made CG and I won't be looking to get one of those until I have a job and save up some dough!
