Ebony wood is the best for fretboards compared to rosewood.
Besides this, there are several ebony qualities.

Just a follow up question for Yamaha guitars. When the website says the back and side are made of rosewood, which type of rosewood would they usually be? Thanks ;)

Indian.
Its only Brazilian if they say so.
Laminated unless they say solid.

I thought S is for Spruce Top and C is for Cedar Top. You may want to write to Yamaha to confirm. I had bought a CG191S (not in production anymore) many years ago, and it is a Spruce Top.
