I used "Der Jung" (the expensive ones) and Rubner (cheapest models) on my guitars and I found no difference in quality. I'm totally satisfied with both the look and functionality. On the german bay you have the option to order your own custom tuners from "Der Jung" without any extra charges.

I've got it on the my 30years old guitar,

I doesn't care the look of tuner, but I don't want any new screw holes on my guitar.

so I check the spec of their tuner, and bought DJ204GK-P1W , which I can fit the old screw holes.

It works great.

Ordered mine today for my Dauphin 30.
All this time I thought I was making music; it was making me.

My both Picado guitars are fitted with the same model of Der Jung frictionless tuners and I am very happy with them.

Same here, and I bought it new from the famous Sherry-Brenner, of all places. Guess I was really lucky.

Peter_T wrote:How's the pricing compare to the lowest-price Rubers (seen sometimes around $45-50, right?)
That's a difficult question, particularly as Rubner offers no Lyra style tuners and aluminum rollers with teflon bearing, why any comparison will be always mor or less misleading.

The shown Der Jung tuners sell hear in Germany for 56€ which is by fare the best price for 1:18 tuners with teflon bearing of the rollers.

Rubner tuners with ball bearing of the rollers start here at app. 160€ but with 1:15 gear ratio.

Schaller Grandtune tuners with 1:18 ratio, ball bearing and lyra style plate start here at 160€!

To compare the said Der Jung tuners with basic Rubners for app. 15€ would not be fair in any aspect!
Hey es335, I am in the market for a good and affordable set of machine heads for one of my guitars. Which of the Der Jung's machine heads use Teflon bearings? I looked at Der Jung's website as well as emailing them and so far could not get the info I am looking for.

Can you provide more info on construction of the Teflon bearings? Is it what they call the FFS = Friction Free System? Or is that the one with the ball bearing? Thanks!

Der Jung makes many different tuners. Which one did you get? Got any pics?

I got the 102G-AS. What a difference compared to the cheap tuners I had on this guitar. I never thought much about the tuners until I got my Steve Ganz Solidarity with Gotoh premiums. These Del Jung's were $US 70. They look pretty good too. I had to fill a few screw holes and drill new ones. And they are slightly longer than my old ones at the lyre end. But they worked out fine.
