Hello, I have heard that raising the action a bit will inprove the quality of sound on my instrument.

Does anyone know if this really does improve the sound? What height do you have your action set to?

I always had my action set rather low but i'm getting to the point where I feel comfortable with higher action if there is a benefit.

Hello Nicolo,

Raising the action will perhaps make the guitar louder but will also make it a little more difficult to play. There are numerous references to guitar action on the forum and if you sue your search button you will track down so much. Don't forget to have a look a look at the sticky in the Luthiers area:
