Hi All,
Just new in the guitar world i recently purchased some cd's with music for lute. Never heard of before, but when I search i get kind of confused... I see luthiers making guitars... So how do you call someone that makes a lute...?

This is the definition of luthier

The noun luthier has one meaning:

Meaning #1:
a craftsman who makes stringed instruments (as lutes or guitars or violins)

Never, ever give up!... I leave my songprint on your heart.

ok, thanks. I guess I thought a luthier only made lutes, cause the words seem to be very simmilar...

I think the original meaning of the word was to describe someone who only made Lutes hence they seem similar words. That meaning has changed to the definition that Owl has given.
