Dowland, John - Mr. Dowland's Midnight

Post by tateharmann » Mon Jun 04, 2018 1:35 pm

Here's an excerpt from practice. I was thrilled to see an arrangement of this little gem that didn't require tuning the 3rd string down half a step. It was done by our own Marieh: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=118279

Playing it very slowly here on gut strings without nails. I didn't capo or anything either - I don't like how my guitar sounds capo'd :/

I also don't prefer capo. The sound of guitar always looks tightly to me, bass disappear, trebles have piercing voices.
Thank you for this little gem; Dowland is always interesting. At this moment I am learning his Fantasia 7 and enjoy his imagination. Strongly recommend!

Best, Bertran II

Thanks Bertran!

I will definitely check that one out - is the transcription for guitar available right here in the Delcamp files? If so - which level is it in?

Thanks again for listening :)

His piece "Fantasia" you can find at Delcamp's book D09, at the first pages.
Enjoy and,... don't start with too fast tempo ;)
