Dowland, John - My lady Hunsdon's puffe - D06

Post by Jean-François Delcamp » Fri Jul 04, 2008 10:29 am

Bonjour,

The Collected Lute Music
of
John DOWLAND
transcribed an edited by
DIANA POULTON
and
BASIL LAM

FABER MUSIC LIMITED (LONDON, 1974)
ISBN 0 571 10010 4

I like it very much. Your interpretation of the piece is so mature it feels as if the musician of that era is playing. The guitar sound fantastic!

I played with a capo on the second fret (tone above).
For ornamentation, I sought the greatest possible authenticity, so I placed a few very brief graces, in imitation of uilleann pipes (See Wikipedia link above)

Hello Jean-François,

Very nice, thank you!

The imitation of the players of the uillean pipes is marvellous.

I love Dowland's pieces but I find them hard to play.
