Dowland, John - A Fancy, P.73 - Video

Post by SimonR » Sat May 26, 2012 1:55 am

Hi everyone,

Here's a quick recording I did 2 years ago of the beautiful lute piece A Fancy by John Dowland as an audition for a summer camp. There are a few minor mistakes, but I had enough of recording the 20 minutes I had to, so that was the most satisfying take I had.

Tell me what you think!
Simon

Very enjoyable - beautiful playing. I think you catch the mood of the piece very well :bravo:

Really excellent Simon! :bravo:

This is one of my favorites from Dowland and you nailed it. Great dynamics, technic, and feeling! I didn't hear any problems with it at all.

It almost sounds like you're playing a lute. Did you use a capo?

Thank you for contributing!

Thank you! Yes, I use a capo on the 2nd fret. :)

I enjoyed the pace and feel of this very much and didn't notice the mistakes. Do you have the MP3 available?
