Weiss, S. L. - Gigue in D Minor - Video

Post by kidneykutter » Fri May 29, 2009 1:26 am

Last movement of the Weiss sonata in d minor S-C #34. Played on 13 course baroque lute. I'm starting to practice continuo now for the Oberlin summer BPI festival, so my last baroque lute video for a while!

Just beautiful, Kutter! I can't get over how much more expressively you're playing since you began making videos.

This is one of my all time favorites, from playing it out of the Noad book. It's wonderful to hear it with proper ornamentation.

Have fun at Oberlin!

There are alot, G.O.! (Thankfully) :D

It's probably easiest just to go to YouTube where they're all in one place.

I love this guy!

Thanks very much for all the kind comments. One of the nice things about making videos is that you can see your own progression over time. Also, without the benefit of regular lessons, you can see technical problems creep in (eg. my barre at higher positions tends to veer too close to the fret).
