Carcassi, Matteo - op.02 Rondo

Post by mjbindy » Fri Dec 17, 2010 9:29 pm

Hi All, I've rerecorded the Opus 2 from Carcassi recently after reading a post from dmcharg (David) and others about revisiting pieces: after a period of time the focus is on the phrasing rather than the technicalities in the score.

Very nice!

It's crazy: I have book called "classical guitar" with lots of pieces by Molitor,
Carulli, Sor, Molino etc. and there is this piece, but with Carulli as the composer.
You score says definetly: it's carcassi. maybe I should call the author of the book...

Yes, the score is Carcassi. Opus 1 though. My mistake on that.

I really enjoyed your performance of this piece .. Carcassi has so much to offer, his music is very melodic and entertaining ... lots to learn still for me ... thanks for posting it helps me to persevere eventhough I don't have a teacher.
R.D. Morin, Las Cruces, NM ... love every minute I spend at learning this wonderful instrument...

Most enjoyable, Matt. Lovely, lively playing! Certainly much beyond my standard at the moment, but still, we persevere!
