Carulli, Ferdinando - op.241 Rondo - D02

Post by Bertran » Mon Jan 18, 2010 9:17 am

Dear all,

Recently I have writen that I have finished all pieces within D02 and that I have found that this piece (for my opinion) is probably the harder one (for D02 grade/level). But at the same time very pretty and (I think) useful piece. There is a lot of quick dumping (for example, from 1:17 - 1:28 minute of this recording), quick passages,...

I am little surprised that there is no recording of such a lovely piece on this site,...so... I dare to upload my .mp3.
At the same time I must apologize to you: my guitar is very cheap, my microphone is built-in laptop mic, my strings are polished D'Addario, so... – everything is prepared for somewhat dull sound.
Nevertheless, if you can ignore recording quality I hope that you can hear how I play this piece.

But, I am not an expert, I am self-learner,.... so, do not sustain!
Whatever you find that I have done wrong or you think that must be done better – please, be so kind and tell me.

Bertran

Beautiful playing and very inspiring! I really loved the ornament in the end, around 1.55. For being recorded thrue a laptopmic the quality wasn't too bad either. :bravo:

Vesuvio, Classitar, nokturong
Thanks to all of you for find a time to hear me playing and compliments that you give it to me.

Valery,
Thanks for compliment. I remember that there was a topic about Carulli, something like 'does it make sense to play Carulli?'. But, I agree with you; he is a great composer. Specially, I like very much his Serenade op.96 (duo). One day, maybe,... :)

JoelJ,
Thank you for your worm words. I am very happy that you satisfied with my playing. About ornament: yes, it is my invention, I feel that I want somehow (on different way) jump into last part. Trully, I was afraid what someone else gonna say about it - but after all I decide to record version with ornament. (Only, maybe the first note after it is little louder that I really wanted).
But, thank you that you recognize ornament, it doesn't exist in the partiture and thanks to encourage me.

Thank you. All of you also sound very good to me. :)

Elijah,

.......I know, but when I hear others (stereo) recordings and sound of theirs wonderful guitars - now I can only dream about it.
But, I am and enjoy while I am playing CG. And I am really happy when somebody give me a compliment, specially like you do:

Great job Bertran,
You have absolutely nothing to feel inferior about because your recording is fine. You must have a very nice laptop.
I really enjoyed your performance. You have a very nice clear tone. I've played this piece before but not at this tempo. I like it faster than how I've been doing it, so I may try speeding it up a couple of clicks.
Thank you for sharing your music with us and giving us this opportunity to hear you play.
:merci:

KeMe,

....well, my laptop is IBM SL500, and built-in microphone with a poor Musima guitar not looks like a representative equipment. One day I will save enough money and buy something better (guitar and microphone),...but, until that - I have no more secret :)

Thank you for your support, understanding,...And for your perception of rhythm for this piece. I have also think about it and try sometime to play this piece slower, but whenever I do that, the piece itself withdraw me to faster pace, so I have found that this rhythm is suitable for me.

Thanks again, your words are very pleasant to me,
Bertran
