Giuliani, Mauro - op.147/09 Trio

Post by Vinn » Wed Mar 19, 2008 2:43 pm

Hi all,

OK I'm looking for some solid criticism here. I haven't actually ever heard this piece played, so how's my interpretation?

(I realise that I gradually played faster towards the end - unintentionally)

Is this too slow/fast, rushed, twangy(?), naily (whatever that means). Should I have some vibrato on the main melody notes?

Vinn

Hello Vinn,

Opus 147 is a new one on me but I like it. The tempo sounded just right to me, I like to wallow a little in those beautiful themes and I think playing it faster might take something away. I liked your tone too, thank you very much for the chance to hear this,

All the best, V :) :merci:

This is new to me too. Very nice though...and your phrasing is very good. I like the way you kept that subdued bass note going during the B section. Nice job.

Congratulations Vinn, on your first MP3 recording. This is a great etude by Giuliani and you played it beautifully.
I think that your tone and control were very good. If there was a tempo increase, I didn't notice because I was so caught up in the beauty of the piece and your playing, nothing else mattered.
Thank you for giving us an opportunity to hear you play, I truly enjoyed it.
Keep up the good work and let's hear more MP3s.
:merci:
