Giuliani, Mauro - op.150 Grande Sonata Eroica

Post by owl » Thu Apr 09, 2009 1:45 pm

My first mp3 post for the year... this piece has been in the pipeline for some time... since last year in fact, however, we were lucky enough to have Gary down from Sydney for a couple of weeks so we figured it was now or never :chaud:
I like this music very much... while not as complex as some of Giuliani's other works it still remains a challenge for the solo classical guitarist
Although musically simple (indeed, perhaps because of that fact) it allows for great expressiveness, and displays a certain joie de vivre
I enjoy playing this music... I hope you enjoy listening :D

Joy in the music

WOW!!!

Your playing is amazing Owl. Clear notes. No string sound. No rubato to try and hind those difficult transitions. Just WOW and thanks.

Wonderful! Which would you say is one of Giuliani's most complex pieces?

Another of those days when I can't hit the download button fast enough!

Amazing as always Owl. Superlatives always seem inadequate when describing your playing.

Thank you for sharing.

Wow... you always amaze. What a pleasure to listen to the luxury of your performance. You make the day feel like I have been to a fine concert of world class music by a world class musician. My spirit is lifted. Is it also because you are a stalwart Delcamper that I feel such pride in being able to listen to something so completely satisfying -- I wish the world could hear this right now. It is truly a gift of great value and I know all of us here sincerely thank you.

Stunning.

Brilliant! Thank you Owl, your playing always amazes me. :merci: :bravo:
No rubato to try and hind those difficult transitions
Hans, rubato is the mainstay of my playing & for the probably for the reason you identified, "to hind those difficult transitions". Now quick question though, did you mean "to hide" or "to hinder" as both are appropriate in my case?

Hello owl,

This is very impressive, and very difficult to play so cleanly. I sometimes forget how good your recordings are, but this makes me want to listen to your earlier pieces again.

Thank you for posting this and of course a big :bravo: :bravo:

Paul :)
