An easy one for beginners...

Count Basie: I don't worry about virtuosity. I do what I like to do. If I'm a virtuoso, that's great. If not, I'm doing what I like to do.

awesome! I think I'll bring this to teach one of my students this morning....

Can somebody enlighten me about the notation style in the book that this comes from (on the giuliani page)?

It's got a '2/4' time signature even though it's clearly in 3/4 and quarter rests are written with eighth rests.....is it just poor copying or was there a period where that would have made some sense?
