Giuliani, Mauro - op.051/01

Post by David McHarg » Mon Oct 25, 2010 2:45 pm

As part of my practice i always try to sight read/play a Sor or Giuliani study. Its amazing the little gems you come across. Anyway this is a recording of No 1 from Op 51 by Giuliani. Don't blink cause its a short little piece and its over before its even begun. Recorded with Edirol R09HR & Colin Morrison guitar. I tried to play it at a moderate tempo as i think it sounds quite playful that way.

Thanks, David. That is a delightful little piece which I have not heard before. Your performance is excellent.

Since there was a Scottish theme already to this thread I thought I should also listen. Well done David :bravo:

Talk about a short piece!! This one has them all beat.
Another great performance, David. I think that I'm going to just make a playlist of just your pieces. I'm enjoying your selection of pieces as well as your playing.
Are you adding reverb to your recordings? It sounds like a bit has been added. Sounds great.

Thanks. Kay yes i added a little reverb about 3%. I record with the mic quite close to the guitar because my room acoustics are not that great but i also like the clarity of how it picks up the guitar,
