Lawson, Jeremiah - Study 4 in C sharp minor in open D tuning - Video

Post by Jeremiah Lawson » Sun Jul 07, 2019 3:14 am

This study is actually pretty easy to play in spite of the key. I leaned on dorian and phrygian harmonies to ensure this study has plenty of open strings and simple arpeggios to compensate for there being no open strings for playing the tonic chord in C sharp minor.

Very interesting. :) I am amazed at your prolificness AND at your command of the larger forms. I mostly only write miniatures and slightly bigger forms, on classical guitar, but ask me to write a prelude UND fugue on guitar, and I'll run the other way.

I have just heard your Psalm 100. Loved it, brilliant stuff. That really rocks! :) Your style seems a synthesis of classical music and American music, and I think that's really interesting!

My hat off. Molto bravo!

PS. according to Google, 'molto bravo' means 'very good', but that could not be more incorrect. It actually means something like 'that's brilliant'.
