Meek, Kay - She's Gone

Post by David McHarg » Sun Sep 26, 2010 10:30 am

Hi,

Thought i would record this little piece by Kay Meek one of the members of the forum, its called "She's Gone". Its a sad little piece of music i think so i tried to keep it quite woody/natural in sound. Recorded with Edirol R09HR + Colin Morrison guitar. Hope you enjoy.

Very nice job, David, on this very pretty piece. I'm sure Kay will be very pleased.

Wow!!!
Look what I almost missed tonight?
I was just fixing to log off for the night when I thought that I would just came in here to quickly see what was happening. And I found this!!!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
It is beautiful. Your pure sweet sound and gentle phrasing absolutely have captured the essence of this piece. When I play this piece, I literally have to wipe the tears from my guitar, and that's what I felt with your performance.

You know, David, there are several recordings of my piece here on the forum and I must say that every one of them touches my heart...each in a different way and I treasure each interpretation. Every time I have heard this piece played, I feel that I know the person playing it a little better because I can hear your heart singing it.
This piece has to be played from the heart or you won't hear the words, it is a love song.
You have given me such a beautiful gift tonight.
Thank you.

I love this little piece, it's right up my alley! Too bad about the sound artifacts though. Anyway, nice!

Thanks for taking the time to listen to my piece. I play this piece every once in a while and it still brings back fond memories of when I composed it. It surely tells the story of my best friend and me.

Again, thank you.
