Barrios Mangoré, Agustín - Danza Paraguaya - Video

Post by ricstang » Tue Feb 05, 2008 10:43 pm

My attempt at Danza Paraguaya. This one is a challenge for me and I don't quite have it where I want it, but I do believe it is postable... let me know what you think.
Thanks in advance for checking this out and I look forward to any comments or suggestions you all might have.

Cheers!

Ric

Wonderful, Ric! Imminently "postable"!

I listened to your MP3 and then noticed that there was a video, so I jumped over here to learn more.

I always thought of this piece as a kind of a horse race.

You won!

On your MP3 thread, you said it was a fun piece. It is, but not so much fun when I play it.

Congratulations! You made it fun.

Twice!

Thanks,

Alan

Thanks for the kind words Alan, Paul, and Marjan! Glad you could enjoy :)
Paul, the mics are a pair of fairly inexpensive MXL condenser mics ran through an M-Audio USB box into my computer. I use Acoustica Mixcraft recording software, which I would recommend to anyone.
Alan... It is now impossible for me to play this without thinking of a horse race! Maybe now I'm playing it with a bit more "gallop." :)

Ric,

Now, I have heard/seen the two versions of your performance. And I liked both of them. Specially this one, on the video. Congratulations! I have been styding it as well.

Hi Ric,

this is very beautiful video and I think, you play the Danza very good. You play with a lot of soul and devotion, I like this very much. :applauso: :applauso: :applauso:

Imo Barrios is brakish if his music is played in an "academic" style :russa:

But you bring this piece to life 8)

Thank you for sharing

P.S.: do you play the Zen-On version?
