Thank you, Chu. Measure 42 (C IV barre) in most cases gives a buzzing sound on the first string, other strings are just fine. Need to experiment more with the wrist angle and finger position. I think the index finger tends to point to the soundboard and is not straight. So, I need to turn the elbow closer to the body. But then it is hard to place other fingersChu Bun wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2018 4:02 amAndrei,
It looks like you have little problem with barres. Your last few measures of the Sor's piece was played very cleanly. Other than a few weak notes here and there, very nicely done.
Do you hear anything about the plan for this month lesson? Maybe we just start on the assignments for last year?
Good luck on finishing this assignment, Colin!
Well done Colin, a few hesitations here and there but these are not easy pieces. After 173 takes for the Sor and still not happy with it I should know.
Very nicely played, real dance feeling. I love music from this period.
My sight reading works if I slow down so as to do one take - with a couple of false starts. You are well ahead of me on memorisation and performance, something I need to work on for the exam otherwise I'm not going to be able to polish the piece.
