Ponce, Manuel - Prelude 8/1 - Video

Post by ben etow » Wed Jan 02, 2019 2:13 pm

Hi,

I love this prelude. I first worked on the Segovia version (number 1) more than 20 years ago, then studied Alcazar's version from which I chose most differing elements. I hope you'll enjoy it.

That's a fine interpretation of a piece which seems more difficult than it looks on paper. Well done, Ben.

Very nice. I watched it before reading your comments and thought that the RH fingering was a little different than the Segovia version I haven't played in at least 20 years. Have to check out the Alcazar version.

Thanks Simon and Brad.

There are more (F# bass a.o.) and different notes in the Alcazar version. That's why I have different fingerings, especially for the LH. I don't really know about RH because I rarely use the printed fingerings (even Segovia's).
