Tickling the Nylon from the heart of Willie Country...CENTRAL TEXAS! :)

Post by TexasFretter » Wed Oct 03, 2018 9:02 pm

Hey Hey folks! I may well get kicked out of Texas for revealing this but about two years ago I traded a revolver for a used Flamenco guitar and it literally changed my life! I learned a few chords and a little about a music staff five decades ago and like a lot of folks put the guitar aside when life got in the way, however this new acquisition spurred me to explore the possibilities of actually unlocking the magic of the beast. Over the past year I've been learning the fretboard, scales and a few fingerpicking techniques but this past weekend I learned what this instrument is actually capable of doing. The Texas A&M International Guitar Symposium was chocked full of musicians who made my skills look like those of the janitor at a brain surgeon convention by comparison. I'm hooked. I crave the technical skills and nuance that will help me to coax those beautiful noises from my little wooden box. :) Thanx for allowing me to join the fun.

Thanks for a very inspirational story. Sounds like an indie movie!
